Use case: co-creation with Kuijpers and Eindhoven University of Technology for building vector

To implement an advanced access control system in building Vector on the campus of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), TU/e, Kuijpers and Synguard joined forces. This project focused on the development of an API link, allowing access control to be controlled more efficiently via their own platform .

CHALLENGE

TU/e needed a reliable and flexible access control solution, where access management could be easily and automated via an API link with Synguard. This required close cooperation between different parties and a careful testing and implementation phase.

An additional complication was an unexpected cyber-attack on TU/e, which required additional management efforts and flexibility from all parties involved to successfully complete the project.

aPPROACH AND COLLABORATION

  • API development: An API link was designed and developed in close cooperation between TU/e and Synguard.
  • Test phase: The link was successfully tested in the acceptance environment.
  • Implementation: After positive test results, the API was jointly brought to production.
  • Flexibility in crisis: Despite the cyber attack, all parties remained flexible and adapted to the circumstances to keep the project on track.
  • Monitoring and Validation: Monitoring of links and error messages ensured stable and reliable operation of the system.

Result

Thanks to the excellent preparation and execution by Kuijpers, the technical expertise of Synguard and the commitment of TU/e, the access control system in Vector building was successfully put into production.

This project highlights the importance of close cooperation, flexibility and technical expertise to successfully solve complex IT and infrastructure issues. Even in challenging situations, such as a cyber-attack, projects can succeed through a joint effort and a well-thought-out Plan B.

With this successful implementation, Building Vector now has a secure and advanced access control system ready for the future.
